A man who was arrested on Tuesday after buying an online drug for erectile dysfunction drugs in the US has been charged with four counts of conspiring to distribute misbranded sex pills.
Dr Zafar Ahmed, 35, was charged with four counts of conspiracy, and six counts of possession of misbranded drugs, along with selling them for personal use. His arrest was made after a week of investigations into the online sale of several drugs to the US market.
He had been working for the pharmaceutical company Pfizer in the US as a consultant, and had been offered the drug by the company for personal use and in a package of seven capsules.
The investigation into the online sales of the drugs found a high volume of drug advertisements, and he was arrested by agents at the US Embassy's office in Islamabad.
Ahmed, who has been in custody since June 12, was arrested by agents in the US Embassy's office. He was taken into custody by an Islamabad court and charged with four counts of conspiring to distribute misbranded sex pills.
